1982 sci-fi thriller set in the futuristic year of 2019, Los Angeles has fallen into depressing decay. Humans have genetically engineered “replicants” – humans essentially designed for labor and entertainment and they are illegal on earth. Rick Deckard, (Harrison Ford) an ex-cop and a “blade runner,” is responsible for assassinating the replicants. In his vigilante pursuit for peace in his city, slaying one replicant after another, he ultimately comes across Rachel (Sean Young), a replicant who stirs his emotions. When he falls in love with her, he is forced to question his own sense of humanity against the backdrop of artificial intelligence. The film has been modified and re-edited and the Bing will be screening a “final cut,” which was originally released in 2007 on the film’s 25th anniversary.
